About Us: The Roman Family
Hi! I’m Jessi, and along with my husband, Roman (Miguel is his first name, but he goes by Roman), and our three beautiful children, we are so excited to welcome you to our programs. As a family, we are passionate about teaching, empowering young lives, and creating meaningful experiences for kids both in and out of the classroom.
I’ve been practicing martial arts my whole life, and I also have experience as a substitute teacher and am a certified special needs instructor. I love getting on the kids’ level to create special moments and meaningful connections, making sure every child feels seen, valued, and supported. (I’m also known for a little extra glitter here and there!)
My husband, Roman, has been a certified martial arts instructor for 23 years. He has a fun, creative teaching style, incorporating cross-training, acrobatics, tumbling, and specialty kicks into his lessons. He’s also an avid runner (logging over 100 miles a week) and loves finding fun ways to include running, games, and competitions into activities. We even participate in local fun runs as a family, helping kids connect with the community and create lifelong memories.
Together, Roman and I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child. Our goal is to nurture confidence, resilience, and self-awareness in every student. Our programs are designed to help kids tap into their inner strength, build lifelong friendships, and grow with pride and confidence in a supportive, distraction-free environment.
A Little About Me
I’m a 3rd-degree black belt with 14 years of teaching experience. My teaching style blends encouragement, structure, and fun so every child feels capable, empowered, and valued. Our classes mix martial arts, crafts, and yes—a touch of glitter for the girlies—because what better way to grow than through a combination of discipline, creativity, and fun?
Both Roman and I are black belts and have studied multiple martial arts styles. We love sharing our passion, knowledge, and heart with every student who walks through our doors.
➔In every program we host, we’re right there teaching alongside the kids. We know how important it is to be fully present, engaged, and invested in their safety, growth, and joy. We lead the programs ourselves because we understand the trust parents place in us to care for and inspire their children.
